CLARE'S LAW
120326.jpeg

Clare's Law gives you the right to know if your partner or ex-partner has a history of violence or abuse. It could be saving so many more lives; the problem is, no one knows about it. With this short, partly participatory, documentary, my aim was to raise awareness for Clare's Law and start a conversation around what more can be done for domestic abuse victims.

I loved working with this, majority female, crew as they were all so supportive and above all else, talented and we're all so proud of the documentary we spent so many months perfecting.

This film is one that's incredibly close to my heart as a survivor of domestic abuse so I am so proud and excited with how its festival run is going and I can't wait to be able to share this film further as my main aim is simply to get people talking about this topic.

Currently, I am in contact with Avon and Somerset Police who are integrating my short documentary 'Clare's Law' into their disclosure officer training program, as well as Bristol UWE University who are looking to implement this film into their Welcome Packs and policing courses from September. These are both really exciting updates and I am increasingly proud of the impact this documentary is having; I hope these are the first of many Police Departments and Universities interested in using it.
